Phase 2 - Poplar & Willow Classes
Autumn 2024
Welcome back to the new school year!
CONCEPTS: Resilience, Respect and Community
This term our topic is 'River Deep, Mountain High' as we focus on learning all about rivers and mountains in our geography lessons. In English, we will be writing setting descriptions using The Wind in the Willows as our stimulus, as well as reading the books 'The Girl of Ink and Stars' (Year 6) and 'Street Child' (Year 5) in our daily Master Reader lessons. Science learning will be first focused on how materials can change and then, after half-term, looking to the stars and planets in our space topic. Creative subjects will have a watery theme - composing music considering tempo, dynamics and timbre and studying artists Monet and Seurat to create some amazing landscapes using a variety of techniques. We also have RE, PSHE, French, Computing and two PE lessons a week. So much to look forward to!
Please check on this page regularly to find information about what is going on in school and lots of photos of what the children have been up to.
